I really felt like a child when I saw these in a neighbouring garden today! The first currants this year, highlighted by the sun and ready to eat! I almost took some to put them in my mouth, but refrained from doing so, as I was already eyed suspiciously what I was taking pictures of...!
And while linking them up to
Lisa's Creative Exchange I'm dreaming of jam and cake and other delicacies made with currants.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
lovely, dredged in icing sugar is a lovely way to have them, great shot.
ReplyDeleteHello Rosie,
ReplyDeleteRed currants, so brilliant and fresh.
Lovely image.
Best thing to do with them is make clear jelly. To serve with cold cuts or meat.
That shines like a jewel when you pour it into the jars.
Oh how lucky you are to have these growing near you Rosie! We can get them here, but they do not grow here. I love them in scones and cookies.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful photograph, and it is surely making me want some currants now!!
Thank you so much for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange. I hope you are all better now.
lisa xo
too bad you could not enjoy some of them. We have them too and I love them. :)
ReplyDeleteI picked some sand cherries this weekend, which were delicious. Have never had currants, but they sound good too. You need to plant a bush (or is it tree?) :)
ReplyDeleteRosie, these look delicious even before being made into jam or cake!!! Lucky we have our cameras for making captures - we get in less trouble that way :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the vibrant red. I've never seen currants growing and I don't think I've had them either.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW!! Those look so yummy!! That red just pops in your photo.. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fruit! I've never had currants (maybe currant jelly) - are they sweet or tart?
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous photo, I don't think I have ever seen a currant plant, so beautifully vivid!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can only imagine your temptation! The color you have captured is wonderful, Rosie!
ReplyDeleteWonderful week to you too , Rosie ! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors in this photo. You know, I think I've only seen currants in the grocery store. They are lovely. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie! What a great capture, and I'm afraid I would have to sneak a few myself. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I've never seen currants growing. Those are as red as you can get. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever eaten any either.
ReplyDeleteHi Rosie, lovely light and composition in your photo! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe dappled sunlight and the different shades of red and green are lovely. It screams summer!
ReplyDeleteHey Rosie-
ReplyDeleteFelt like we've not touched base, and I read back to see you've been ill. I hope now that July is here, your sinus infection has cleared. They are painful and bothersome-I can't imagine one that lingers on.
Love the brillance of your currants shot. Let those gawkers be suspicious. Sometimes when I'm getting strange looks I think "yes, and you're someone who would buy beautiful images, you just can't see them"....maybe a big overconfident, but helps with the funny looks.
