Photographer's Weal And Woe
Can you believe it's Monday again? Time for Lisa's Creative Exchange!
Yesterday was a cold but sunny Autumn day and I was out and about with my camera. At one spot some trees were beautifully highlighted in the afternoon sun, a must-have photo, or so I thought.
I was playing with my camera settings while waiting for several people to "walk out of my picture", when suddenly a man yelled at me "stop taking pictures of me". I was absolutely shocked at his tone and tried to explain that I didn't take any pictures of him, that in fact I was waiting for an "empty" scenery, but he went on ranting. In the end, I just ignored him, took my picture - which then was totally uninspired - and walked on.
No wonder I love taking pictures of flowers and berries so much...
Have a wonderful week!

I've had a few crazy reactions to my camera also, so I know it can be really upsetting...I'll never forget when a security guard threatened to have me arrested for taking photos! I love the colors and contrast in your berries image. Have a great day, Rosie!
Truly crazy! Glad you got these beautiful berries, though. Are they Mountain Ash or Bittersweet, or something else?
Oh my goodness what an upsetting experience. Some people can be truly horrible. Hope it didn't ruin your day too much.
Don't let that unruly (and perhaps guilty of something) man stop you from taking your beautiful images. I love bittersweet, it is such a beautiful fall color!!
So sorry you had to endure that, Rosie. He must have been paranoid. Maybe he's got something to hide. Glad you made it away with your shot safely. Do you carry mace? Something to think about. Or get a nice burly body guard.........:)
that is why I rarely have people in my shots. But in your case you did not even aim at hin so he should not have been disturbed. Too bad he spoiled your fun. :(
Just wonderful with the colors and the focus. Beautiful !
What a very strange experience - after something like that happened I'd be sticking to flowers and berries for a while.
What a big jerk! Having someone yell like that is upsetting.
I'm glad that you still were able to capture these beautiful red berries.
I've had a couple people yell things at me from a distance and I ignore them....and think in my mind what I should yell back....and motor on.
Hopefully next outing will be quieter.
As long as the berries don't start yelling at you, I think you'll be okay... ;) Lovely shots of all the autumn plants. *le sigh* I'm not ready either. =)
Oh, dear, someone is completely paranoid. Sheesh. That definitely would freak me out. I love your bright red berries. Hope you have a wonderful inspired week ahead! :)
Oh Rosie, I am sorry this happened! You handled it so well though. I am not sure I would have been so kind as to just wait for him to get over it! :-)
I think this photograph is beautiful. I love the color!
Thank you so much for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange.
Have a great evening!
lisa.
How horrible. What an ignorant man!
Great picture. The bushes are laiden with berries this year which we are being told that this fore warns of a bad winter ahead.
Hope you have a love day!
So sorry to hear about the crazy ranter! Some people..... Yes, flowers, berries, trees, clouds, mountains, waterfalls - all good choices to admire and capture :) Beautiful berries!
So sorry about your experience with that guy - I know it would upset me too. I'm glad you got your shot though because it's gorgeous!
Beautiful photo! I love the colors. I's sorry about the guy. Wonder what made him think he was special enough to be photograph by a complete stranger.
The berries are beautiful!
What a nut. Some people are just plain crazy!! I have this type of bush on the side of my house. But haven't had much luck with getting a photo of the berry's.. I do hope you have a great week and stay away from the crazies..
Hugs, Linda
Sorry that happened. What's wrong with some folks! Seems you handled it good and look at your result!
Ouch! How unpleasant of him! Flower and berries are wonderful subjects and never complain.
Beautifully photographed, the light is wonderful.
This is what I fear would happen to me if I tried taking pictures of people on the street! And you weren't even trying to do that. I tend to stick to the flowers and berries myself :)
I know I know and that is why I love take pictures everything what is not human:) He didn't came to you and want to see your pictures if he would be there in some picture.
Stay home and in the woods:)
Wow, so sorry. People are so rude today. I had a similar thing happen to me at a baseball game--a really rude mom who was mad that I DIDN'T take a picture of her child, who later dug up our outfield and bragged about it. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I later thought I should have turned the camera on her and said "You want a picture, here you go." I think after that I would have turned the camera on him and taken it for spite! Maybe not ... Memorable moment though. Have a good weekend.
What a stinker! I think your photo here is lovely -- does look like Mountain Ash, but the leaves are different -- perhaps a European variety? :)
