In The Spotlight

Texture by Kim Klassen

The sun is shining today and I took a quick walk, ready to take some photos of colourful flowers, when my eyes fell on this yarrow, standing in the shadows, highlighted by the sun. I left the photo as it was, I only added a bit of texture to break up the pitch black background.

I'm sure there are some colourful flowers around, but they will have to wait for my next walk. Today, I was fascinated by this contrast of light and dark.

I will link this up to Lisa's Creative Exchange and hope to have a look at all the wonderful entries as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Too Late Again

Originally, I had planned to participate at Lisa's Creative Exchange yesterday and then post another photo for Texture Tuesday today. But sometimes life goes not always as planned, so here today once again a combined entry.

First of all, thank you all so much for your nice and encouraging words on my last post - I really appreciate it and I actually felt better, knowing I'm not alone in this! And I think I should try not to focus too much on flower shots.

That said, here's yet another flower shot. I guess my husband had enough of my complaining about the wind preventing flower shots and surprised me with this wonderful lily on Saturday. He told me that he explicitly chose this flower as he thought it would be wonderful to take pictures of. So I HAD to do another flower shot. :-)

I used one layer of Kim's free texture "Yesteryear" on this photo for Texture Tuesday. And now I'll hurry to link it up before it's Wednesday.

Have a wonderful week!

Clueless

Texture by Kim Klassen

I was searching for a birthday present when Mickey's large questioning eyes met mine. I had to take a picture of it (actually it's a notebook on display at a stationery department), as this shows exactly how I'm feeling today... with big question marks all over me. Clueless and uninspired and discontent. Do you have such days, too?

A strong wind busted my plans for flower photography today leaving me with no idea what to take pictures of. How did I ever survive winter without those beautiful flowers everywhere? What did I take photos of all those months? Oh, well, you're right - I'm a bit grumpy today...

I still don't have that birthday present but at least a photo for today and a little contribution to Lisa's Creative Exchange. ...and I do feel a bit better now!

The First Ones

After a longer than planned treatment at my dentist's yesterday, I wasn't up to anything else than lying down. Which is why my photo today is both my entry for Lisa's Creative Exchange and Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday.

This photo shows one of the first "guests" on our balcony, as we decided to risk planting some flowers this weekend, even if it's still freezing during the nights. It's so great to have flowers again just outside the window and I'm sure you are going to see the whole lot over the next weeks...!

Although I liked the SOOC already, I added Kim Klassen's textures "sweettreat" and "sweettart" (one layer of each with a soft light blending mode, opacity of around 45 %) to link it up to the texture party today.

I hope you had a wonderful start into the week!

Weekend

The weather forecast for the weekend is wonderful and I plan to have another look at those lilacs...!

In the meantime here is a little flower for you (isn't that colour just too beautiful?) wishing you a most wonderful weekend.

Lilacs

Florabella Texture

This might be my only shot of lilacs as rain mixed with snow has been forecast for the next days, which will most likely turn the lilacs into a brownish sad sight (as already happened to the magnolias here).

I'll link this up to Lisa's Creative Exchange and can't wait to see what the other participants have contributed.

Have a good start into the week!
