A Sign of Spring

I can't remember a winter with such a seemingly endless period of grey and dreary days and weeks - which is a good thing, as the weather report confirmed that it has been the longest winter period without sunshine since 1949...!

The lack of sunshine resulted in increased investment in chocolate and flowers to ward off depression - this is not an official statement, by the way, this is how I survived the last months ;-)

A little pop of colour never fails to cheer me up and tulips are my favorites - a sign of spring.

texture tuesday spring tulips against the grey and dreary winter

I used Kim's textures "chill" (to pay tribute to the temperatures) and no. 2 from Ben's collection for this week's Texture Tuesday.

Have a wonderful week filled with sunshine!

Oh I do love me some tulips (and chocolate) and I'm spoiled here in Texas with so much sun shine, that when the sun goes missing for only a few days I'm in a funk!

Beautiful job on the tulips! I don't think I've ever seen any with this deep red before. I hope your gray days leave you soon. I know that's got to be so depressing.

I love the backlight in this--just makes it even more scrumptious!

You know, Rosie, I was just commenting on that the other day. I understand that winter is snowy and cold, but it has been so horribly gray here too. Today was the first day in 3 weeks that the sun peeked through. Only for a moment, and then it was gone. Does not do a lot for one's mood for sure. :-(

These tulips are just beautiful, and I love the color.

I hope you've had a wonderful day!
xo.

Wonderful color! I love the light that brightens the inside of that front tulip. Keep up with chocolate "therapy", it helps one cope with winter :)

My investment in chocolate and flowers took an uptick this month as well...if fact, the chocolate intake increased again today! Tulips seem to be the drug of choice for us spring fever sufferers! Lovely shot!

Love how the tulip in focus is so prettily backlit.

I'm loving all the beautiful tulips I'm seeing. They are truly harbingers of spring. I love photographing them too - they have such a nice architectural quality.
These are so beautiful.

You captured the red so well...I have trouble with that color in my photos, for some reason. Wonderfully vibrant tulips, Rosie!

They look so pretty. Love the texture you added. We have had lots of sunshine here in the desert. But I still love to buy chocolate and flowers. You know everything here in the desert is brown this time of year.

I do hope you are enjoying your week my friend.

Hugs~

Nothing wrong with chocolate and flowers! Love the colour of these tulips against the soft white background - the textures work beautifully.

Hi Rosie! What a lovely photo! I love the light and the color of your tulips. It's been pretty gray here in Seattle too, but we have had a more mild winter this year than other parts of the world, so no complaints here! Hope you get to see some sun soon. Happy Friday!

This is so pretty! Flowers and chocolate are the perfect way to ward off some of the misery of those grey days, it's my prescription too. I saw the sun for a few moments today...it was quite the sight ;)
