Last Day of January
I can't believe January is as good as over - it feels like I've sprinted through the month. Here is a photo for the last day of Justine's "partially seen" theme.
Justine's new theme for February is "Patterns and Repetitions" - so let's see what I'll find in the next 28 days!
Have a good start into the week!

Vitamins
It's Macro Friday again at Blogging from Bolivia and I decided to share another piece from my fruit plate. I'm looking forward to have a look at all the entries!
Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend!

Morning Rush
Taking photos of people - especially strangers - is a real challenge for me, even if they show only their feet as Darrah Parker suggested in her course Slice of Life Project. This photo is taken with my point-and-shoot camera on my way to work.
I converted it into black and white as my entry for Black and White Wednesday at The Long Road to China, where already quite a number of photos are waiting to be admired!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Photo of the Day
Just a quick hello to post one of my photos from today's walk in the (cold) sun. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

Macro Friday
I had to buy these tulips - I needed that invigorating yellow and green to distract me from that grey and the snow outside. So let's pretend it's spring already!
I'll link this up to Laura's blog Blogging From Bolivia for Macro Friday and look forward to all those wonderful macros there.
Have a wonderful day!

Basil
I must admit that I don't have green fingers when it comes to herbs... therefore here, quick, a capture of my basil, as long as it still looks green and photogenic in the light that's coming through the kitchen window.
What made today's shooting so extra pleasant was the scent of the basil wafting up to my nose every time I moved it around in the light. Do you love the scent of herbs, too?

Black and White Wednesday
As my orchids are still blooming I took the opportunity to have another go at them. I converted one of them into black and white for my entry at The Long Road to China.
Have a colourful Wednesday!

In The Kitchen
Just as yesterday I was playing around with the light, today in the kitchen, tackling my bread knife. And somehow it turned out to be a "partially seen" shot again, as well.
Don't worry - I had a whole slice of bread before going about and setting up my tripod. Now I'll get back for a few more bites before attending to that (huge) pile of laundry.
Have a wonderful day!

Photo of the Day
With my photo today I tried to kill two birds with one stone - I was playing around with the light for this shot for Darrah Parker's photography course and I also managed to make it a "partially seen" shot for Justine's January theme. It would have been more than perfect if I could have found a creative approach for Lisa's Creative Exchange, but I think that would be asking too much. ;-)
And now I'll take care of my chapped lips... (did I mention I can't wait for spring to be here...)
Have a wonderful Monday!

Derelict Beauty
I came by this old building today on a walk and isn't it just perfect for Justine's Partially Seen theme. I decided to enhance its derelict beauty with one of Kim Klassen's texture.
I hope you had a great weekend so far!

Macro Friday
Just a quick macro for Macro Friday at Blogging From Bolivia - with some of my orchids in full bloom I couldn't resist.
I hope to catch up on your blogs and comments over the weekend! Have a wonderful Friday!

Fitness Routine
To make this clear right from the beginning - I don't have a fitness routine at the moment... But as my work days are spent sitting at a desk most of the time, I at least make it a habit to walk all the stairs. How do you fit sports into your schedule?
By the way, this is also my entry for Black and White Wednesday at The Long Road to China. I'm curious to go over and have a look at all the wonderful entries.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Time for Tea
Tea is about the only thing that keeps me warm these days. It's so cold and I wish I could go to bed, sleep, wake up and it's spring...
Have a wonderful Tuesday - hope you are warm and well!

Piece of Cake
Sometimes a piece of a "good old" marble loaf cake is all I need. Sunday afternoon, coffee and cake seem to belong together for good.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Mugs And More
My photo of the day shows one of my mugs - partially seen with wholehearted love. I got this mug from my husband and drinking hot tea from that mug warms me in more than one ways.
Have a wonderful day!

Macro Friday
The weather is really ghastly at the moment and being confined to indoor shooting I decided to take a macro today for Macro Friday at Blogging From Bolivia. This photo shows one of my finds during warmer times at the beach.
I keep the shells in an open wooden box and I must admit that my macro lens demonstrated very adamantly that I should dust more intensely... I tried to hide that fact by using one of Kim Klassen's textures on the photo. Wouldn't it be great if that worked in reality, too?
Have a wonderful weekend!

An Apple A Day
My photo of the day - a glimpse onto my fruit plate. I love fruit, be it "basics" like an apple or "exotics" like pineapple, mango or papaya, which are my absolute favourites. Do you love fruit, too?
I wish you a wonderful and healthy Thursday!

Partially Seen
Justine has announced "Partially Seen" as new theme for January. I love this theme as I think it teaches me to focus on small details instead of going for a full screen shot. And it's really interesting how much one can see in a small part - "insiders" may even detect the author of this book...!
Have a great wonderful Tuesday!

Happy New Year
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and may 2011 be as you dream it to be!
Very aptly for today the Mortal Muses' prompt is "resolution". I must admit that I haven't yet decided on what my resolutions for 2011 could be, I plan, however, to think about it the next days. One thing's for sure: I want to keep on learning all there is about photography!
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement in 2010 and have a wonderful start into 2011!
