In The Spotlight

Texture by Kim Klassen

The sun is shining today and I took a quick walk, ready to take some photos of colourful flowers, when my eyes fell on this yarrow, standing in the shadows, highlighted by the sun. I left the photo as it was, I only added a bit of texture to break up the pitch black background.

I'm sure there are some colourful flowers around, but they will have to wait for my next walk. Today, I was fascinated by this contrast of light and dark.

I will link this up to Lisa's Creative Exchange and hope to have a look at all the wonderful entries as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

I love opportunities like this! It's beautiful, Rosie! Sometimes, I try to create the scene by setting a vase and flower(s) on the kitchen floor when the afternoon sun is hitting that place on the floor. Beautiful back-lighting!

This is wonderful Rosie, and I love the processing you did on it!
We have had a lot of very bright sun this past week (finally!!!), and I am finding that I much prefer the shadows for my photographs!!

Thank you so much for sharing this at The Creative Exchange today.

Have a wonderful day!

Glad that you got side-tracked by the yarrow! I think yarrow has the most beautiful form, stately but delicate too.
