No, I'm
not ready for autumn yet (let alone for Christmas, in case you were wondering at yesterday's post)! Seeing the signs around me, however, I think I have to get used to the idea that summer is over.
A part of me says I should simply accept that summer wasn't so good this year and look forward to autumn, but a part of me still hopes for a few more summer days. And what's life without a little bit of hope...?!
Have a wonderful day!

I know exactly what you mean, we have had a dreadful summer. Today it poured with rain and it has turned quite cold. Don't feel we have really had a summer :(
Autumn is my favourite season though so maybe it will be nice. Fingers crossed.
What a beautiful shot, Rosie. Don't fret, summer will be back next year....:)
It certainly does feel like autumn is on it's way. It's been very cold today and I even considered putting on the heating!
Beautiful shot Rosie, love your choice of dof.
I'm holding on to summer with all I have
Oh come on...autumn isn't so bad...at least not in NC. I can't wait for it to cool down!
You deserve a few more summer days -- I'd send you ours, if I could. But there's always "Indian summer", which can be beautiful. Your image is wonderful! The contrast in colors and composition make it a very special photo.
I guess everything is relative. I cannot wait for this hellish summer in Texas to be over. But for those in colder climates, I guess it makes sense you'd want to hang on to the warm days as long as possible. Wish I could share some of our hot days with you. :)
Oh my friend. For you, I wish summer would last just a little longer. Your photo is so pretty.. TFS...
Hugs, Linda
I too am dreading the passing of summer. I feel I've just recovered from last winter.
Something I often forget though, is how lovely Sept can be. As a teacher I wasn't aware. In my real estate job sometimes I can sneak out mid-day and get a few moments in the nice air.
This is a beautiful blossom...whatever it is. We're still in summer, but it's dry and crunchy and leading into fall. Hopefully, we will have a fall season instead of jumping right into winter.
